EPFL researchers developed LogSync, an implantable neural chip that decodes interactions between brain regions to identify cognitive and emotional states. Funded by a CHF 6.6 million grant, the system consumes under 200 microwatts. Published in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits in September 2026, the work builds on previous research to enable adaptive stimulation for severe psychiatric illnesses.
