Swiss Lab Tests DNA Microfactory

A European research collaboration developed DNAMIC, an autonomous microfactory that encodes digital files into synthetic DNA for power-free preservation. The system was tested on the HE-Arc campus in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, by digitizing a watchmaking heritage archive. Unlike hard drives, this method requires no additional energy for long-term storage.
