MIT and Samsung researchers published a paper in Science Advances on improving quantum dot LED (QD-LED) efficiency and lifespan. The team sliced QD-LEDs into thin slivers and found encapsulating them in an acrylate-based resin slows degradation. Commercial QD-LED TVs are years away from being affordable.
