Polestar is banned from selling new vehicles in the U.S. starting with the 2027 model year. The U.S. Department of Commerce denied authorization under the Connected Vehicle Rule due to national security risks linked to China. Polestar is majority-owned by China's Geely Holding. The company will sell remaining Polestar 3 and 4 inventory and pivot to Europe.
