Samsung officially shut down Samsung Messages in the US on July 6, 2026. The app is no longer available for download from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store. Users are advised to switch to Google Messages, which is already pre-installed on most Galaxy devices. Newer devices like the Galaxy S25 and S26 lack the base app entirely.
