Colorado Law Mandates EV Battery Recycling

Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed the Promoting Responsible End-of-Life Management of Electric Vehicle Batteries Act, the first U.S. law requiring automakers to collect and recycle EV battery packs free of charge. It mandates 90% recovery of nickel and cobalt, 50% of lithium (rising to 80% in 2031), and reporting requirements.
