California launches new EV rebate program

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 168, reviving a state rebate program ended in 2023. First-time EV buyers can receive up to $3,500 off new vehicles priced up to $50,000, or up to $1,750 for used vehicles up to $25,000. Funding comes from a $600 million budget allocation.
