NetApp Inc. plans to acquire PEAK:AIO Ltd. to integrate parallel file system technology based on the pNFS protocol into its Novus storage architecture. This move aims to solve metadata bottlenecks in AI infrastructure by allowing Linux kernels released after 2018 to carry a pNFS client, enabling customers to extend existing systems without ripping and replacing them.
