EPA Repeals Power Plant Emissions Rules

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency finalized the repeal of Biden-era emissions standards for power plants. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin called it the largest power sector deregulatory action ever. The move is expected to keep older coal and gas plants online longer to meet energy demand from data centers and the AI boom, while the administration also proposes to rescind all remaining greenhouse gas standards for plants.
