Amazon announced the acquisition of Amsterdam-based DuckLabs, creators of the analytical database DuckDB. Co-founders Hannes Mühleisen and Mark Raasveldt will lead the team within AWS. The deal integrates DuckDB into Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, enabling single queries to combine live transactional data with historical records stored in Amazon S3 and Apache Iceberg tables without additional network hops or ETL pipelines.
