WhatsApp usernames arrive with early reservation option

WhatsApp has started letting users reserve usernames ahead of the feature's wider rollout later this year. The reservation process began this week and is available through the latest version of the app. Users can reserve a username by navigating to Settings > Account > Username. WhatsApp will not maintain a searchable username directory.
