MIT Center Launches 50 Mental Health Fellowships

Patricia and James Poitras gave $10 million to MIT's McGovern Institute to fund 50 two-year fellowships for psychiatric disorder research. Five fellowships will be awarded annually for a decade, supporting graduate students and postdocs. The gift comes as federal funding grows precarious and extends the family's MIT mental health giving past $100 million. Applications open May 2027.
