New research from NYU Tandon and Radboud University reveals thousands of deceptive ads slipped through Google's safeguards, generating over 100 million impressions. Using their AdLens AI tool, the team analyzed 189,000 ads and found 238 scareware ads, 3,346 misleading software promises, and 258 deceptive designs. The study, titled AdLens: Efficient Detection of Deceptive Software Ads, will be presented on Nov.
