Google Rolls Out Gemini Live Avatars for Support Bots

Google is rolling out Live Avatar, a visual persona combining real-time video generation with speech models. The avatars can trigger tool calls and fetch data in the background during conversations, and adapt lip-syncing and facial expressions across 97 languages. Aimed at support bots rather than consumers, the feature follows last week's Gemini 3.8 family launch including Live and Live Extended Thinking.
