Santander-Webster deal gets OCC approval

The OCC approved Santander's $12.3 billion acquisition of Webster Bank 74 days after the application was submitted. The deal still requires approval from the Federal Reserve and European Central Bank. The approval timeline has shortened since President Trump took office in January 2025.
