Finance panel seeks digital competition rules, e-commerce code

The Standing Committee on Finance wants the Digital Competition Bill expanded to cover Virtual Assistants and Cloud Services, with proactive ex-ante regulation. It also called for an E-commerce Code of Conduct mandating platform neutrality, algorithmic transparency, and non-discriminatory data access for smaller businesses. The Government accepted seven of eight recommendations.
