China Issues First Industry Standard for Brain-Computer Interface Medical Devices

China's National Medical Products Administration approved the first industry standard for brain-computer interface medical devices on September 16. The standard, effective January 1, 2026, defines terminology for BCI-based medical equipment. It follows a July policy framework targeting key BCI technology breakthroughs by 2027.
