Volkswagen is considering bringing the base Golf hatchback to the U.S. market. The company is moving Golf production to Puebla, Mexico, where it will join other models. VW Group of America CEO Kjell Gruner says tariffs on Mexico-made vehicles must be lowered to at least 15 percent for the base Golf to be imported. This could add a third model with a starting price under $30,000 to VW's U.S. lineup.
