EU launches €525M chip design platform

The European Commission launched the European Chip Design Platform on Wednesday with €525M funding to support start-ups. The €440m in grants helps firms build prototypes or reach market, while €85m funds the platform itself. Partners include imec, with 20 start-ups already participating in the initiative.
