Nasdaq ends down as chipmakers fall

The Nasdaq Composite fell 42.37 points, or 0.15%, to 27,203.53 on Monday. Broadcom rose while Micron Technology and Applied Materials fell sharply. The PHLX chip index dropped for a fifth straight session, losing more than 8% in the past five sessions.
