Undead Labs, owned by Microsoft since 2018, has become worker-owned and independent after Xbox's second round of job cuts this year. The State of Decay studio is laying off a significant number of staff in the process. State of Decay 3 remains in development, targeting a closed beta before the end of the year and a 2027 release.
