Converting a SEM into a TEM is Surprisingly Easy

ProjectsInFlight converted a scanning electron microscope into a transmission electron microscope using a DIY reflecting adapter. The main challenge was the 14 mm clearance inside the chamber, solved with a thinner aluminum sample plate. A leaky secondary electron shield was fixed by extending it higher, dramatically improving TEM images.
