CFTC seeks input on AI compute futures as CME eyes October

The CFTC is preparing to solicit public comment on compute futures contracts, a move that could complicate CME Group's planned Oct. 5 launch of two AI compute futures products. Intercontinental Exchange also plans similar products. Silicon Data will provide pricing benchmarks. AI infrastructure spending is roughly 2% to 2.5% of US GDP.
