X violated Canadian privacy law with Grok deepfakes

Canada's privacy watchdog found X and xAI violated federal privacy law by launching Grok without safeguards, enabling non-consensual sexualized deepfakes of women and children. The companies failed to obtain consent and responded insufficiently. They now must issue quarterly reports and third-party audits on safeguards.
