Nitter and XCancel, privacy-friendly services for viewing X posts without an account, have shut down following legal threats from X. X sent a cease-and-desist letter last month, alleging unlawful use of its API and data scraping. Nitter's GitHub page was archived on September 11, and XCancel suspended its service, citing ongoing legal proceedings.
