Benchmarking Cheap LLMs for Production Agent Traces

Glassray tested four cheaper models against Claude Sonnet 4.6 for trace digesting. The shipped model runs at about a thirtieth of the cost with search returning the same traces. The two cheapest-looking models failed. Claude Haiku 4.5, gpt-4o-mini, Kimi K2.5, and Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite were the candidates.
