Anthropic will watermark Claude-generated text using a version of Google DeepMind's open-source SynthID-Text system to comply with the EU AI Act. The watermarking creates detectable patterns via word-choice randomness, without affecting output quality or cost. Google's Gemini has supported SynthID Text since 2024.
