IBM launches Granite 4.2 reasoning models

IBM released Granite 4.2, open reasoning language models in 3B, 8B, and 30B parameter sizes under Apache 2.0. The 8B and 30B variants include agentic reinforcement learning for terminal use, web search, and tool use. Granite Speech 5.0 Turbo CTC models also launched.
