Satcom Launches Blocked Until Security Clearance

Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated on October 9, 2026, that Starlink, Reliance Jio, and Eutelsat OneWeb cannot launch satellite internet in India until they individually fulfil security conditions. The Ministry of Home Affairs must approve compliance, while spectrum charges remain at 4% of adjusted gross revenue per a May 2025 TRAI recommendation.
