Nvidia is investing $3.5 billion in MediaTek, which will adopt Nvidia's NVLink Fusion ecosystem to design custom AI chips for cloud providers. The deal lets Nvidia maintain dominance as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic build their own silicon. MediaTek expects $2 billion in custom chip revenue by 2026.
