NASA transferred 103 acres of Maryland woodland, Area 400 near Goddard Space Flight Center, to the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The land, previously used for propellant research, is now part of the Patuxent Research Refuge, a 13,000-acre site created in 1936 for scientific study.
