Seriously, what is the large code-model even for?

The large code model cannot handle thread-local storage (TLS) in binaries over 2GiB. Compilers emit only 32-bit TLS relocations, which overflow beyond that boundary. Both GCC and LLVM exhibit this limitation, making the large code model effectively broken for large TLS binaries.
