Git 2.56 Released, 3.0 Looms With SHA-256

Git 2.56 ships with over 700 non-merge commits, adding a git history drop subcommand and new git refs operations. Maintainer Junio Hamano is now deciding whether the next release should be 3.0, which would switch the default hash to SHA-256.
