BYD announced plans on Aug. 22 for its fourth Southeast Asian electric vehicle plant, set to begin production in Perak, Malaysia, in 2026. The facility will assemble vehicles from CKD kits at a 600,000-square-meter site in Tanjung Malim. The automaker opened its first regional plant in Rayong, Thailand, last July.
