Medical data of minorities could be more vulnerable to cyberattack

A Nature paper finds that individuals from underrepresented groups face disproportionately higher risks of having their medical data compromised in cyberattacks on AI training datasets. Current risk assessments do not account for these individuals. The researchers call for stricter access controls and further mitigation measures.
