Eight states sued OpenAI on Wednesday alleging ChatGPT harmed children and deceived parents. Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, West Virginia, Arkansas, Arizona, Idaho, and Montana filed suits seeking civil penalties and data deletion. OpenAI states it has built industry-leading age-specific protections into the chatbot.
