Forest-powered supercapacitors could replace batteries in IoT devices

Ligna Energy's S-Power technology uses forest-derived lignin polymer to replace toxic metals in batteries, offering quick charging, an 8-10 year lifespan, and cost savings. The ultra-thin pouch-format cell is designed for small cards and sensors, charging quickly and surviving more cycles than conventional batteries. This technology could save enterprises cash in the long term by reducing maintenance costs. S-Power 2S offers 1.2F capacitance, a 2.7V operating voltage, and more than 250,000 charge cycles.
