Cellebrite tools used in Russia despite cut ties

Cellebrite said it cut ties with Russian government customers in March 2021. Researchers at The Citizen Lab found that a Russian investigative unit used a Cellebrite phone hacking tool to break into the iPhone of opposition politician Andrey Pivovarov in June 2021. The case shows how surveillance tech can remain in use after a company ends sales.
