Kong Tao, former ByteDance robotics team head, joined Xiaomi in 2025 to lead a foundation-model team for robots, bringing former colleagues. Xiaomi's robotics division has about 200 employees. Xiaomi released Xiaomi-Robotics-1 and tests humanoid robots in manufacturing.
