Sony DADC confirmed PlayStation disc production will decline 10 percent by 2028, not to 10 percent of current levels. Sony will stop pressing discs for new games starting January 2028, while Microsoft licenses disc replication to outside manufacturers. Former PlayStation boss Shawn Layden calls the shift "depressing, but solvable.
