Scientists finally see the atomic flaws hiding inside computer chips

Cornell University researchers used high resolution 3D imaging to identify atomic scale defects inside computer chips for the first time. The technique was developed with TSMC and ASM. The findings, published Feb. 23 in Nature Communications, could aid debugging and fault-finding in chip development.
