Singapore Pays Citizens to Read Books

Singapore launched a five-year national campaign to encourage reading by offering small cash payments. Citizens earn virtual coins for logging 15-minute reading sessions on the CrowdTask SG platform. The program aims to combat declining reading habits and 'brain rot' caused by digital distraction. It is currently in a pilot phase running through the end of the year.
