Texas utility CenterPoint Energy confirmed an attacker stole customer information through an external-facing system. The company disclosed the breach in an SEC filing after a cybercrime forum post claimed to offer its data. CenterPoint, which serves about 7 million customers, said its electricity and gas services remain operational and undisrupted.
