India bans three e-rickshaw apps

The Union government ordered removal of BAT-BMS, Epoch-i-ion, and Lossigy from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. These applications could disable Bluetooth-enabled battery systems in e-rickshaws remotely without authentication. IT Secretary S Krishnan confirmed the action after drivers reported vehicles shutting down unexpectedly while carrying passengers.
