Meta sued over AI layoff targeting

Twenty-six Meta employees filed a federal lawsuit alleging AI systems penalized workers on medical leave during May layoffs of roughly 8,000 jobs. The suit claims Meta used tools including Metamate, keystroke monitoring, and AI token dashboards to score and rank employees. Plaintiffs seek an injunction blocking terminations set for July 22.
