Vercel Blob now supports OIDC authentication and sets it as default for new projects. Vercel-issued OIDC tokens are short-lived and auto-rotate, replacing the need for long-lived BLOB_READ_WRITE_TOKEN. Users upgrade existing stores by navigating to the Projects tab and selecting Upgrade to OIDC. Functions on Vercin receive the token automatically and authenticate requests with it. The Vercel CLI picks up environment variables after project update.
