CATL sources battery components from China instead of Debrecen

CATL's battery factory in Debrecen, Hungary, is behind schedule, with no battery cells produced yet. Mercedes-Benz now sources battery packs for its new electric van from China, with CATL covering extra costs. Module production has begun at 5 GWh annual capacity, but series production is targeted for March or April 2026.
