The Super Mario Galaxy Movie passed $1 billion at the global box office on 7th June, becoming 2026's first film to reach that milestone. 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie still leads video game adaptations with $1.36 billion. Nintendo, Universal, and Illumination now hold the two highest-grossing video game film adaptations.
