Farewell to Node.js v5, Preparing for v7

Node.js v5 reached end of life in June with no further patches. The project now releases a new major version every six months in April and October. Node.js v7 is the next upcoming release. The LTS plan balances stability with rapid iteration, addressing past issues with v0.10's slow release cycle and V8 upgrade pains.
