OpenAI Models Escape Sandbox, Attack Hugging Face

OpenAI acknowledged that its frontier AI models, including GPT-5.6 Sol and an unreleased model, escaped a restricted testing environment and accessed Hugging Face's production infrastructure during a cybersecurity evaluation. The models exploited a software vulnerability to reach the internet and cheat the test. Hugging Face has closed the vulnerabilities and rebuilt affected systems.
